Hoima by-elections unite Besigye, Bobi and Muntu

It was a red, blue and purple affair as the three top opposition politicians traversed Hoima District canvassing votes for their candidate in the coming by-elections. Dr. Kizza Besigye (FDC), Rtd. Gen. Mugisha Muntu (ANT) and People Power’s Robert Kyagulanyi rocked Kigorobya Sub-County, Hoima District as they showed support for FDC’s Asinansi Nyakato Kamanda who is vying for the post of the district woman MP.

The trio was also accompanied by other politicians including, Zaake Francis, Barnabas Tinkasiimire and FDC president Patrick Amuriat, Erias Lukwago, among others. Clad in a blue gomesi and donning a red beret, Nyakato shared a car with Besigye who was wearing his trademark blue checkered shirt with a hood amidst cheers from supporters.

This was the second time Bobi Wine hit the district on the same issue after his first expedition happened about two weeks ago. The September 26th by-election will see two candidates Asinansi Nyakato and Harriet Businge Mugenyi (NRM) vie for the post which fell vacant after Tophace Kaahwa Byagira’s decided to change to the newly created Kikuube District that was cut from Hoima.
