Parliamentary Speaker Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga has tasked the government to compensate the family of a lady who was shot by security operatives for breaching the presidential directives on the COVID-19 pandemic. While replying to the news of her death on twitter by Baba FM, Kadaga expressed concern about the deceased saying the lady was trying to get something to eat for her family.
“What an unnecessary loss of life. Am sure she was a mother trying to put bread on the table in these uncertain times. Will the state compensate her family?” Kadaga wondered.
The deceased, Ms. Namulondo Evaline was a food vendor and according to the reports by the time she was shot at in the stomach, she was heading to her workplace on a bodaboda during the morning hours. She was admitted to Jinja Referral Hospital where she breathed her last on Friday.
