Uganda’s ever-young-looking female artiste Grace Nakimera’s scarcity on the music scene can be defined by one word, charity. The ‘Sexy’ singer has partnered with DINA Foundation, Feed the Streets Foundation and Bukenya UK in a project that is aimed at building homes for the needy called BuildAHome.
The project has started in Iganga where a home has been built for a family close to thirty members including an infant albino. “Today, this is a home of grand parents, children and great grandees’ is a tourism attraction for the entire district and nation perhaps!” a happy Grace illustrated. She added that the project is targeting to set ‘50 new homes in Uganda in the next five years (by 2023)’.
Of late, a number of actors in the entertainment industry have come up with various Social Responsibility programmes. Examples include Mike Kakande of Kapalaga Heart Foundation, Bebe Cool with the Amber Foundation, Maro with the Tundula project, among others.
