Detained Kyaddondo East legislator Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu is expected to appear before the court martial in Gulu today where he’ll be charged with treason. According to the police, Bobi Wine as he’s popularly known was found in possession of two fire arms in his hotel room in Arua although the owner maintains he never had them.
Yesterday, Kyagulanyi’s family, friends, musicians, politicians, supporters and well wishers organized a mass at Rubaga Cathedral where they prayed for him as well as his fellow Members of Parliament like Francis Zzaake who is receiving treatment at Rubaga Hospital, Gerald Karuhanga, Paul Mwiru and Kassiano Wadri. The prayers also included more than the 30 people who were arrested in Arua ahead of the by-elections as well as those who lost their lives.
Yesterday, a video clip showing Bobi Wine’s meeting with Deputy Speaker Jacob Oulanyah surfaced on Social media. The 08 seconds clip shows a happy Bobi Wine in red clothes even though his supporters have dismissed the video claiming it was just a manipulation.
Meanwhile, neighboring Kenyans held a concert advocating for Bobi Wine’s unconditional release. In addition to that, there is also a planned demonstration at the Uganda Embassy in Kenya for the same cause.
